Internship: Bioschemas

ELIXIR Hub is looking for an intern to support the development of the ELIXIR Bioschemas implementation study.


The internship will support the Bioschemas implementation study and the Bioschemas activities driven by the Hub and the ELIXIR Interoperability Platform. The work will involve web development and support of community building activities. The web development activities will include working with Bioschemas working groups to facilitate the development, implementation and use of Bioschemas specifications. Community building activities will include, among others things, supporting Bioschemas meetings and helping to develop and maintain the Bioschemas website.

The internship would be ideal for people with some programing experience willing to learn and get more expertise in a Bioinformatics community project. Some knowledge of Python, MarkDown as well as distributed version control and source code management systems like GitHub are desirable, JavaScript would be a plus. The candidate is also expected to work closely together with the ELIXIR Hub intern on Beacon and in External Relations.

The internship will be based in ELIXIR Hub at the Wellcome Genome Campus located in Hinxton, 8 miles south of Cambridge. We offer a stimulating, international environment and an attractive campus connected to Cambridge via a free bus service. A stipend will be offered to the selected intern.
